Spanish Honors Society is a club with Spanish speaking students. The purpose of this club is to volunteer in activities that serve our community. I have 2 years participating in Spanish Honors club. I joined this club during my junior year because my first language was Spanish and I like serving for the community. In this club I have been able to help others, get involved and socialize with people I wouldn't talk to before. I love this club mostly because the activities are great experiences and they are really fun. I was able to be part of the Spanish Honors Society club because I have taken three Spanish language courses and I'm currently taking AP Spanish literature.
Being a Scicon counselor was a great experience for me because it helped me socialize with people I didn't know. I met a lot of students and teachers from other schools. I was at scicon for five days during my junior year and I loved it. I really enjoyed being surrounded by nature and seeing different animals. I liked being seen as a role model for the little ones and becoming friends with the other counselor I was partnered with. Being a scicon counselor gave me the responsibility of watching over sixth grade students and making sure everything was safe for them to enjoy. A challenging part was having to get the students to follow directions sometimes but, what I liked the most was visiting incredible places.
Talent Show
I participated in the Drama Club talent show in my senior year. It was a great experience participating because it's something I haven't done before. I was really nervous but at the same time excited. Presenting in front of people taught me to not be embarrassed to talk or act in front of others. In this talent show I sang and danced at the same time with other friends. I enjoyed this activity because it was really fun making others laugh and helping out my friends make this activity possible. This also helped me work as a team because it was a group activity and lose fear to what other people can think.
